Oracle raises restructuring cost by $700 million as it accelerates AI cloud buildout
Oracle increased its fiscal 2026 restructuring charge by about $700 million to roughly $2.8 billion while ramping AI cloud investments. The company booked over $30 billion of new AI cloud contracts, lifting its backlog to $664 billion, and reported 30% revenue growth to $19.3 billion and adjusted EPS of $1.92; first-quarter free cash flow improved to negative $5.4 billion. Oracle releases Java 27 with post‑quantum cryptography and performance optimizations
Oracle makes Java 27 available and integrates nine JDK Enhancement Proposals for security, performance and developer productivity. New are a hybrid key exchange for TLS 1.3 for post‑quantum cryptography, PEM encodings for cryptographic objects, and in‑process data redaction for JFR. Further changes include compact object headers enabled by default, G1 as the default garbage collector, Vector API entering its 12th incubation phase, and several preview features such as structured concurrency and primitive types in patterns.
