  • Pennon Group records strong recovery in second half of 2026

Pennon Group reported an EBITDA increase of 55% in H2 2025/2026 and an adjusted operating profit that more than doubled to £326m. The company proposes a dividend of £0.2929 per share; the stock fell 2.23% in pre-market trading. For 2027 Pennon expects revenue to rise by £50–70m, EBITDA growth of 5–10%, and higher financing costs, depreciation and capital expenditure of £620–700m; weather, regulatory and environmental risks remain. » More on de.investing.com

  • Pennon falls after weak outlook despite return to profit

For the year ending 31 March, Pennon reported a statutory pre-tax profit of £114.4m after a loss a year earlier, an adjusted EBITDA of £519.2m (+55%) and adjusted EPS of 28.3p (consensus 27p). The 2026/27 outlook implies adjusted EBITDA growth of only 5–10%; Morgan Stanley expects this to be below consensus for EBITDA and net income. Net interest costs are set to rise 10–15% due to financing investments of £620–700m, and a net penalty payment under the Operational Delivery Incentive remains. Additional charges stem from regulatory risks and fines and from pending judgments related to pollution at South West Water. » More on de.investing.com
