The 1&1 share rose by up to 6.5% to €20.30 on Tuesday morning after it emerged that United Internet and CEO Ralph Dommermuth had placed a buy order for up to 6 million 1&1 shares with a term until 30 June 2027. The order is to be executed under market-friendly conditions and signals that United Internet intends to raise its current 86.46% stake to around 90% in the medium term, potentially enabling a squeeze-out of minority shareholders. The 1&1 share rose 5.5% after the publication of the half-year figures. EBITDA climbed 5.1% in the first half to €382.7 million, while EBIT increased 61.1% to €111.3 million.
