Adecoagro acquires Brazilian Caarapó sugarcane mill for 148 million US dollars

Adecoagro reached an agreement with the Raízen group to buy the Caarapó mill in Mato Grosso do Sul for about 760 million R$ (around 148 million USD). The transaction includes sugarcane plantations and existing supply contracts; in the 2025/26 season the mill processed about 3.5 million tonnes of sugarcane and can produce sugar, hydrous/anhydrous ethanol and renewable energy. The deal will be paid in cash, is subject to customary contractual conditions and requires approval from the Brazilian antitrust authority (CADE); closing is expected before October 1, 2026. Adecoagro plans to integrate the facility into its sugar, ethanol and energy business; given its market capitalization and liquidity metrics, financing the purchase price is considered feasible. » Más en de.investing.com
Adecoagro misses Q1 2026 EPS by a wide margin, revenue rises

Adecoagro reported adjusted EBITDA of $85.8 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. The fertilizer segment generated $52.5 million in EBITDA, a 4.3-fold pro‑forma increase versus Q1 2025, driven by higher urea production and elevated prices ($517/t). The sugar, ethanol and energy segment contributed $40.6 million (up 36%) amid record processing of 2.2 million tonnes of sugarcane, while food & agribusiness fell to $1.4 million.
