Aker's share in Oslo gained more than 7% after portfolio company Nscale signed a contract worth around $45 billion for AI computing capacity at the Monarch site in West Virginia with an unnamed customer. Nscale, backed among others by Nvidia, Dell, Nokia and Aker, also operates the joint venture Aker Nscale and is working with OpenAI on a renewable AI data center in Norway. Aker reports a net asset value of NOK 110 billion for Q1 2026 (+63%), driven by the strong revaluation of AI infrastructure investment Nscale, which rose to the second-largest asset after a Series C valuation of $14.6 billion. Aker increased its stake in Nscale to 22.8% through a cash investment and the acquisition of JV shares; Nscale contributed NOK 15 billion to NAV growth, and Aker BP contributed a further NOK 22 billion. The portfolio was realigned around five core themes (energy 55%, digitalization & AI 31%); the liquidity reserve and conservative leverage remain solid.
