Argenx posts high Vyvgart revenues, operating result below analysts' expectations

In the third quarter arGEN-X’s revenue rose by more than 50% to $1.72 billion, almost entirely driven by sales of the drug Vyvgart. Operating income grew 40% year-on-year to $486 million but fell short of analysts’ expectations. The main reasons for margin pressure are increased research and marketing costs. Net income attributable to shareholders was $506 million, up from $344 million a year earlier. Argenx shares recover slightly after phase-III trial flop

European stocks extended their recovery on Monday, supported by an agreement between Europe and China on export restrictions for hybrid cars, which could particularly benefit auto stocks. The EuroStoxx 50 rose 0.45 percent, the SMI gained 0.66 percent and the FTSE 100 climbed 0.99 percent. Argenx shares added 0.7 percent after having fallen sharply following the failure of a pivotal phase-III study.
