An Italian energy supplier has invested €1.4 million in LNEnergy Italy, acquiring roughly 10% of the shares. LNEnergy Italy subsequently increased its stake in the Colle Santo gas project from 90% to 100% after a partner withdrew. Beacon Energy still holds an indirect economic interest of about 43% in the project via subsidiaries; the final size of that interest depends on the completion of a second acquisition. RPS estimates the net present value of this interest at €37.6m at €40/MWh and €52.9m at €50/MWh. Beacon Power Services says Africa’s urban grids lose about a third of generated electricity to theft, leakage and poor metering, leaving cities like Lagos with highly unreliable supply. The company advocates creating a digital twin of the grid—using aerial imagery, field verification and node-level metering—to provide real-time visibility of flows, pinpoint losses and prevent outages.
