BitMine has shifted its business model from bitcoin mining to Ethereum staking: in the quarter through the end of May the company generated $46.5m in revenue, of which $45.7m came from Ethereum staking and validation. As of the reporting date BitMine held 5.77m ETH, of which 4,917,189 ETH (around 85%) were staked; bitcoin mining contributed only $624,000. With the MAVAN platform and the acquisition of Pier Two, BitMine aims to expand institutional staking and targets roughly 5% of the Ethereum supply in the long term, but sees concentration and protocol risks.
