Wholly owned subsidiary B.A.T Capital Corporation has placed bonds totaling $1.5 billion, split into two tranches of $750 million each (coupons 5.300% maturing 2033 and 5.550% maturing 2036). The notes are guaranteed by BAT, B.A.T. International Finance, B.A.T. Netherlands Finance and Reynolds American. Currency-adjusted revenue in the first half rose 1.4% to £12.2 billion, and adjusted operating profit increased 2.5% to around £5.4 billion. However, profit attributable to shareholders fell by about 30% to just under £3.2 billion, hit by restructuring costs and charges in Canada. CEO Tadeu Marroco confirmed the outlook but expects revenue and adjusted operating profit to be at the lower end of the medium-term targets; medium-term goals call for annual growth of 3–5% for revenue and 4–6% for adjusted operating profit. British American Tobacco has entered into an agreement with Goldman Sachs International to acquire ordinary shares until 12 October 2026. The buyback is part of a programme first announced on 18 March 2024 and extended on 10 December 2025; repurchased shares are to be cancelled. Shareholders authorised the purchase of up to 217,492,219 shares; maximum prices are determined by specified market rules.
