Brompton sells stakes to Decathlon and BA Capital as investors realise cash
Decathlon acquired a 10% stake in Brompton and BA Capital bought 5% in a deal worth about £18m, bringing retail, supply-chain and China-market expertise and creating space for staff and long-term investors, including CEO Will Butler-Adams, to realise some cash. Brompton will supply dedicated 'Brompton corners' in selected Decathlon stores and expects partner know-how to support expansion. The company cut headcount to about 790, sold 78,530 bikes in the year to March 2025 (down 7.5%) with revenue of £121.5m (down 1%), while pre-tax profit rose to £130,476; sales rose slightly in the year to March 2026 but profits were weighed down by investment in growth. » Más en theguardian.com
