Italy's financial police have seized Campari ordinary shares owned by majority shareholder Lagfin worth about €1.29 billion. The action follows investigations into suspected tax evasion: in a previous merger, exit-tax gains of more than €5 billion are alleged to have largely gone untaxed. Investigators say there is a "fraudulent tax return"; the measure was taken after market close.
