Cineverse expands RetroCrush with VIZ Media content deal

Cineverse has reached an agreement with VIZ Media to expand the anime offering on its RetroCrush service. Newly available will be films and series from franchises like BLEACH, Hunter x Hunter, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon and NARUTO, as well as titles such as Captain Tsubasa and Hikaru no Go. Cineverse exceeds revenue forecast for Q1 2027, adjusted EBITDA turns positive

Cineverse reported revenue of $30.6 million for Q1 2027, beating the estimate of $22.4 million; revenue rose 175% year over year and technology revenue accounts for more than 60%. Adjusted EBITDA turned positive at $0.5 million, while GAAP EPS missed expectations significantly with a loss of $0.28 per share versus the expected -$0.08. Management reaffirmed the full-year guidance of $115–120 million in revenue and $10–20 million in adjusted EBITDA, but flagged risks from lower operating margin, limited liquidity ($4.3 million) and negative working capital. Cineverse launches VAUDIO to convert audio advertising into CTV ads

Cineverse has launched VAUDIO, an ad-tech product that turns podcast, radio and audio streaming spots into connected-TV ads by adding visual elements. The solution builds on the IndiCue infrastructure, required only minimal additional investment and is intended to let advertisers use existing audio content on CTV without new video production.
