ESR recalls HaloLock power banks after reports of fires and offers refunds

ESR has recalled about 33,000 HaloLock wireless power banks after reports that their lithium-ion batteries can overheat, ignite and even explode; the company is offering full refunds for units sold through Amazon, Home Depot and ESR’s online store. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says there have been nine reports of fires causing roughly $20,000 in property damage but no injuries, and consumers are urged to stop using the affected 6,000mAh and 10,000mAh models immediately.
