Funding Circle has signed a two-year financing agreement with Castlelake for up to £500 million, under which Castlelake will gradually invest capital through the platform into loans for UK small businesses. The deal brings Castlelake in as a new institutional investor and broadens Funding Circle’s funding base; the company operates a capital-efficient model. Funding Circle reported revenue of about £138m in the first half of 2026, up 50% from £92m a year earlier, and a pre-tax profit of around £23m versus £6m. The company originated £1.7bn of loans (previously £1.1bn) and increased assets under management to £3.3bn. Available cash rose to £136m, new term-loan originations amounted to £1,050m, and two forward-flow agreements totaling £900m were signed. Funding Circle has completed its tenth public securitization (SBOLT 2026-1); the total issuance since 2016 now stands at around £2.5 billion. The transaction includes loans held by Waterfall Asset Management and marks the first participation of the British Business Bank in a Funding Circle securitization.
