GCI Liberty bought in April about 61,000 class A shares and 12.3 million class C shares of Liberty Latin America from funds managed by Searchlight Capital for roughly $107 million in cash, based on LILAK’s closing price on April 1. The transaction represents an equity stake of about 6% in Liberty Latin America. GCI Liberty is in talks with Dr. John C. Malone about the possible acquisition of additional holdings, including voting-powerful class B shares, in exchange for newly issued series C shares of GCI Liberty.
