In the first phase of the deal Gray paid $40 million, financed by a private placement of $70 million in senior secured notes, which increases total debt to $5.8 billion. The second portion of the purchase is expected to close in Q4 2026 in cash, subject to regulatory approvals; Gray expects the transaction will not increase consolidated net leverage. Gray Media has entered an agreement to acquire ABC station WBBJ 7 in Jackson, Tennessee, from Bahakel Communications; closing is expected in the first quarter of 2026 subject to regulatory approvals.
