Greenfire Resources buys Connacher for $1.28 billion and strengthens oil-sands portfolio
Greenfire Resources agrees to acquire all shares of Connacher Oil and Gas for about $1.277 billion in cash. The acquisition is expected to raise production to roughly 34,000 barrels per day in 2026 and to about 65,000 barrels per day in the long term; proved and probable reserves are combined at around 850 million barrels. Identified synergies amount to about $30 million per year. Financing will be via a reserve-based loan (access to ~$700 million) and a $575 million bridge facility, which is covered by a backstopped rights offering. Greenfire expects a leverage ratio of about 1.7x EBITDA for 2027 after repayment of the bridge (assuming WTI $70) and tax loss carryforwards of around $2.8 billion; closing is expected in August 2026. » Más en de.investing.com

Greenfire Resources lowers 2026 production guidance after drilling failures
Greenfire Resources has cut its 2026 production guidance from 15,500–16,500 to 13,500–15,500 barrels per day due to unplanned drilling interruptions in an expansion project and a higher‑than‑expected decline rate in base production. A highly productive well is being re‑drilled and is expected to return to service in March 2026. In 2025 the company produced 16,169 bbls/d, Capex was USD 111.8m, and Greenfire reported proven reserves of 231.8 million barrels at year‑end 2025. After a rights issue and repayment of high‑yield bonds, Greenfire is debt‑free, has an unused credit line of USD 275m and a strong balance sheet (current ratio 2.27). » Más en de.investing.com
