Harworth agrees exclusivity for second data centre site

Harworth has entered into an exclusivity agreement with a data centre provider for the sale of a plot with a secured power connection. The site has strong planning prospects and an already accepted power-connection commitment. Harworth rejects Peel takeover offer as too low

Harworth’s board unanimously rejected an unsolicited cash offer from Peel of 172.5 pence per share, saying the proposal undervalues the company and its prospects. Harworth criticised the opportunistic timing of the approach and highlighted its strong pipeline, including negotiations over a hyperscale data centre, a land portfolio with 0.8 GW of grid connection capacity and 35 million square feet of development land for industrial and logistics. Peel makes unsolicited takeover offer for Harworth Group

The Harworth Group has received a firm, unsolicited takeover offer from Peel Pepper (UK) Limited, a company indirectly owned by the Peel Holdings Group Limited. Harworth’s board said it had not held substantive discussions with Peel before the offer and is reviewing the terms of the proposal with its advisers.
