Hill & Smith raises full-year outlook after strong US-driven first half

Hill & Smith reports organic, currency-adjusted revenue growth of 5% for H1 2026 and adjusted EPS up 9%; adjusted operating profit rose organically 3% (currency-adjusted 7%) with a stable margin of 17.0%. The company slightly raised its 2026 operating profit guidance and cites continued strong demand in its US transmission/distribution, galvanising and data centre businesses, while the UK business remained weaker. ROIC improved to 26.7%, the interim dividend was increased and a share buyback programme is underway; the shares nevertheless dipped slightly and trade near their 52-week high. Hill & Smith reports adjusted earnings per share of 132.2p for 2025, up 8%, driven by a stronger US business that accounts for 63% of revenue and 79% of operating profit. Revenue rose organically 3% to £868.8m, adjusted operating profit climbed 6% to £151.3m, and the operating margin improved to 17.4%. Hill & Smith: Strong US business drives accelerated organic growth

Hill & Smith reported accelerated organic revenue growth of 3% for July to October (after 2.3% in H1 2025), driven by strong performance in its US platform businesses and the US Engineered Solutions division. Galvanizing saw volume and margin increases in the US and the UK, while UK & India Engineered Solutions reported declining revenues and profits. Order books have improved since mid‑year, cash conversion remains strong, and management reaffirmed the full‑year guidance and the target of an EBITA margin above 18%.
