Instructure says it reached an agreement with the hacking group ShinyHunters after the attackers stole 3.5 TB of Canvas student data, reporting the data was returned and destroyed and that customers will not be extorted. The company did not specify payment but acknowledged the deal and is working with forensic vendors to harden systems and review affected data.
