At least two Peet's Coffee shops in Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach have reportedly closed, and several Bay Area locations shuttered in January as the chain aligns operations with long-term growth priorities. The closures appear in the company store locator and employees confirmed the Southern California shutdowns, while Peet’s did not immediately comment. Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) has received a strategic investment commitment of $7 billion, led by Apollo and KKR, to finance the takeover of JDE Peet’s and the subsequent planned split into two standalone companies. The package includes $4 billion for a production joint venture for K‑Cup pods, in which KDP will retain the controlling majority, and $3 billion in convertible preferred shares.
