Kier has been selected as the lead construction partner for the redevelopment of Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridgeshire; the contract is worth around £500 million. The project is part of the first phase of the NHS Hospital 2.0 Alliance under the New Hospital Programme; main construction work is due to start in 2028 and finish in 2032. Kier said in the trading update that revenue and profit for the fiscal year ending 30 June 2026 are expected to be at the top end of analysts' forecasts. Momentum continued in the second half, driven by water projects and contracts in motorway and rail construction as well as large projects such as the new-build HMP Glasgow. The order book rose 8% to £11.9bn, Panmure Liberum kept its buy recommendation, and an ongoing buyback programme (4.7m shares) strengthens the capital base. Kier has extended a framework agreement with South West Water worth around £140m by two years to March 2028 and has been appointed as sole contractor. The contract covers maintenance and refurbishment works, repair and leakage elimination measures, network resilience projects, as well as metering and developer services.
