Kymera Therapeutics bets on oral degraders and focuses on immunology
Kymera Therapeutics reported progress on oral protein degraders at the Morgan Stanley conference and emphasized an almost exclusive focus on immune and inflammatory diseases. Its lead program is KT-621, an oral STAT6 degrader initially being tested in atopic dermatitis; early data show near-complete STAT6 degradation, positive biomarker changes and so far a favorable safety profile. The Phase IIb BROADEN2 trial is recruiting faster than expected, with readouts due by end-2024; Kymera sees broader indication potential (asthma, COPD, EoE, among others) and is also advancing KT-579 (IRF5) and KT-485 (IRAK4, in collaboration with Sanofi). Near-term catalysts are Phase I data for KT-579 in Q4 2024 and the BROADEN2 results; commercial success will depend on whether KT-621’s early biological signals translate into larger trials and additional indications. » Más en de.investing.com
Kymera Therapeutics focuses on oral immunology with STAT6 and IRF5 programs
At the Citigroup Biopharma Summit, Kymera outlined its focus on oral immunology, centering on STAT6 (KT-621) for type 2 inflammation and IRF5 (KT-579) for autoimmune diseases. Phase 1b data for STAT6 (22 patients, 28 days) showed encouraging safety results with no cases of conjunctivitis, and enrollment for the Phase 2b study is progressing faster than expected; a Phase 3 strategy is currently being developed. For IRF5, management expects robust biomarker effects (reductions in interferon and cytokines) and is evaluating parallel development in lupus and IBD. Kymera aims to build an independent commercial company, plans to identify new targets annually, and is exploring partnerships for programs outside its immunology core. » Más en de.investing.com
Kymera Therapeutics speeds up oral immunology pipeline, BROADEN2 data moved up
At the Wells Fargo conference, Kymera Therapeutics said recruitment for the phase‑2b BROADEN2 study in atopic dermatitis proceeded faster than expected, and the data readout is now expected late 2026 instead of mid‑2027. The oral STAT6 degrader program KT‑621 showed early signs of efficacy and a very good safety profile in about 200 treated subjects, prompting the company to target phase‑3 planning by mid‑2027. In parallel, Kymera expects phase‑1 data for KT‑579 (IRF5 degrader) before the end of 2026 and is building a broader franchise for oral immunology indications, prioritizing pediatric and respiratory indications. » Más en de.investing.com
