Lindt & Sprüngli cuts prices and dismisses CEO after sales and revenue decline
Lindt & Sprüngli has cut prices because of falling demand, with some products in supermarkets now cheaper than rival brands like Milka. After multiple profit warnings and a volume collapse of around 15% in Germany, the board parted ways with CEO Adalbert Lechner; the head of the Germany business was also dismissed. The company's share price has fallen by more than a third since spring. Former CEO Dieter Weisskopf will take over on an interim basis, and a permanent successor is to be appointed by mid next year. In Switzerland, a broader personnel reboot of the board of directors is also being discussed. » Más en faz.net
Lindt & Sprüngli dismisses CEO Lechner after sales drop caused by high prices
The board of directors of Lindt & Sprüngli has parted ways with CEO Adalbert Lechner and has appointed former CEO Dieter Weisskopf as interim head; a permanent successor is expected to be named in Q2 2027. The company cut its revenue forecast twice in 2026 and is seeing volume declines (6.6% in 2025, 7.5% in H1 2026), especially in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Lindt raised prices by an average of 11.8% in the first half of 2026, which, together with weak demand and falling tourism, led to lower orders. Sales volumes are not expected to rise again until 2027, and the company aims to return to its previous organic growth of 6–8% by 2028. » Más en wiwo.de
