At the Barclays conference, Lloyds Banking Group unveiled the four-year plan "Accelerate 2030", which foresees £13 billion of cash investment and mid-single-digit percentage medium-term revenue growth. The bank is targeting a cost‑income ratio below 45% and a return on tangible equity of around 20% by 2030. AI is a central part of the strategy: more than 40,000 Copilot licences have already been rolled out and there is an AI revenue target of £100 million for 2026. Lloyds Banking Group issued 2,535,129 ordinary shares between 1 and 28 August to meet allocations under employee share schemes. The shares, with a nominal value of 10 pence, were admitted to trading under existing listings on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and are fully fungible. After the issue, the total number of ordinary shares admitted to trading is 57,994,703,389. Lloyds Banking Group appoints Kelly Bennett, effective 1 September, as an independent, non-executive member of the board of directors. Bennett was Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix from 2012–2019 and previously held senior roles at Warner Bros.; she has also advised Microsoft Xbox and the founders of Nubank and is currently chair of the supervisory board at Zalando as well as a venture advisor at Technology Crossover Ventures.
