Mulberry has announced that CEO Andrea Baldo was granted, free of charge under the Performance Share Plan 2017, options on 1,500,000 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 5 pence per share. The options are subject to corporate performance targets and can be exercised after audited annual accounts: 1,000,000 options in 2028 and 500,000 options in 2029. The Mulberry Group reduced its pre-tax loss in the first half to £6.9m versus £15.7m a year earlier; the adjusted loss fell to £7.4m. Group revenue dropped 4% to £53.9m, while wholesale sales rose 36% and like-for-like retail sales grew 4%. Gross margin improved to 69% and operating costs fell 16% thanks to cost reductions.
