NFI has opened a new acceptance and delivery plant in Winnipeg and is for the first time in 15 years manufacturing heavy transit buses entirely in Canada. The facility started production in September 2025, delivered the first Canada-built bus in December 2025, and is expected to increase capacity by up to 240 equivalent units per year by 2027; financing came from federal, provincial and internal funds.
