QBE shares fall despite profit rise after half-year results
QBE reported for H1 2026 an adjusted net profit of around 1.03 billion AUD (+4%) and currency-adjusted gross written premiums of 15.1 billion AUD (+6%); return on equity was 17.7%. Investors reacted negatively, however, as net insurance revenues missed expectations, the expense ratio rose from 12.1% to 12.4%, and a provision in the accident and health insurance business caused concern. The combined loss and expense ratio was 92.8% and largely in line with guidance; nevertheless the revenue shortfall and higher costs pushed the share price down to 23.02 AUD (day low 22.07 AUD). » Más en de.investing.com
