REGENXBIO appointed Greg Ciongoli to its board of directors with immediate effect. Regenxbio stock plunges after FDA clinical hold for RGX-121

Regenxbio’s shares fell about 24.3% in premarket trading to $8.12 after the FDA imposed a clinical hold on the gene therapy RGX-121 due to asymptomatic spinal MRI findings in five former trial participants. The company does not plan to refile the BLA for RGX-121 in the near future, leaving a key regulatory milestone indefinitely delayed. The move follows an FDA rejection in February 2026 and an earlier clinical hold in January 2026 related to RGX-111, intensifying safety scrutiny of the MPS pipeline.
