The Dutch AI startup Euclyd closed a $230 million Series A round, with Samsung among the largest investors. Euclyd is developing a novel processor-and-memory architecture for AI inference intended to reduce data centers' energy consumption and costs. Business model: selling complete chip systems to enterprise customers and licensing the chip architecture. Samsung Electronics rejected a proposal from Korea Electric Power Corp (KEPCO) for an advance payment of 25 trillion won to finance power infrastructure for planned semiconductor plants after an internal review.
