Sempra Infrastructure has signed a 20‑year contract with Petrobras for around 0.8 million tonnes of LNG per year. The LNG is to come from the contract‑secured liquefaction capacity of Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 in Texas. After completion of Phase 2, Port Arthur LNG will reach a total capacity of about 26 million tonnes per year; Phase‑2 trains are planned for 2030 and 2031. Sempra Energy shares lost about 3.6% in pre-market trading after Mizuho cut its rating from “Outperform” to “Neutral” and lowered the price target from $104 to $84. The move was prompted by the failure of key elements of California’s wildfire reform SB 492, notably the omission of a mechanism to replenish the state wildfire fund, leaving liability risks for subsidiaries such as SDG&E and SoCalGas.
