Sono Motors GmbH ceased operations on July 31, 2026, and has opened insolvency proceedings; the B2B solar business Sono Solar as well as intellectual property, power electronics, solar charge controllers, hardware and Solar Data Services are being offered for sale. Parent company Sono Group N.V. had previously halted all funding commitments, transferred the GmbH for one euro to entities controlled by executives, and is repositioning itself as a treasury company focused on digital assets. Sono Group has reached a sixth supplemental agreement with Yorkville to postpone the maturity dates for four convertible bonds to August 1, 2025.
