Hidroelectrica announces around 13% price increase after shutdown of Cernavodă nuclear plant
The Cernavodă nuclear plant has been offline since August, causing Romania to import additional electricity. Hidroelectrica plans to raise prices on connection contracts by about 13% from October, which is likely to push up wholesale prices, particularly during evening peak hours. Industrial companies, especially suppliers to the automotive sector, will be more affected and may reconsider location decisions.
