Stellantis is recalling about 850,000 vehicles in the U.S. (2026–2027 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram models) due to a software defect that can disrupt the rearview camera display. The company also recalled roughly 107,000 vehicles in Canada, Mexico and other markets. Stellantis is considering selling its closed plant in Brampton, Ontario, the union Unifor said. The plant was closed in 2024 for retooling; a planned restart of Jeep Compass production was halted and moved to Illinois instead. Unifor is preparing for collective bargaining that covers the Brampton plant, the assembly plant in Windsor and the foundry in Etobicoke; the current contract expires on Sept. 20.
