Optical networks are replacing copper in data centers and driving growth in photonic components, transceivers and network systems. Vontobel posted a net profit of CHF 216.0 million in the first half, up from CHF 115.5 million a year earlier, benefiting from higher revenues and a lower cost base. Operating income rose 24% to CHF 852 million, driven by a very strong business in Structured Solutions. Assets under management increased to CHF 252.2 billion, with net new money inflows of CHF 2.5 billion, mainly in Private Clients; Institutional Clients recorded no net inflows.
