The shareholders of Fidelity Emerging Markets approved a special resolution to buy back participating preference shares at an extraordinary general meeting. The resolution was passed with 28,995,971 votes in favour (100.00% of votes cast) and 800 votes against; turnout was 71.26% of the issued share capital entitled to vote. Fidelity Emerging Markets Limited has called an extraordinary general meeting for 28 May 2026 to approve the early renewal of its authority to repurchase shares before the next annual general meeting. The existing authority allowed buybacks of up to 14.99% (6,851,372 shares); 4,285,376 shares (63%) have been repurchased to date, leaving 2,565,996 shares (around 6% of the share capital). An extraordinary general meeting voted 99.29% of votes cast in favor of the buyback of 16,441,177 redeemable participating preference shares from the Strathclyde Pension Fund. The resolution received 48,419,293 votes in favor, 346,837 votes against and 4,726,426 abstentions, with a turnout of 76.3%.
