A consortium led by Aecon (Red River Biosolids Partners) has been awarded an $815‑million contract by the city of Winnipeg to modernize the North End Water Pollution Control Centre. Partners are MWH Constructors and Oscar Renda Contracting, each holding 33.3%; Aecon’s share will be added to the Construction segment’s order backlog in Q3 2026. The project includes new sludge treatment facilities and modifications to the city’s largest wastewater treatment plant; commissioning is scheduled for Q4 2030, with final completion planned for Q2 2031. Aecon and Arctic Gateway Group signed a memorandum of intent to jointly assess development projects for the Port of Churchill and the Hudson Bay Railway.
