An analysis by the Center for Technology & Statecraft concludes that the export restrictions introduced in 2023 are having an effect: Chinese firms have purchased an estimated 343 immersion lithography systems from ASML, including 270 units of the older Twinscan NXT:1980Di. Newer models like the NXT:2150i did not reach China; ASML sales to Chinese customers amounted to around €41 billion from 2012 to 2025, €10.2 billion in 2024 alone. New upward momentum would require a daily close above the August high at 1,632.00 EUR, followed by the levels 1,678.20 EUR, 1,700.00 EUR and the record high at 1,741.00 EUR.
