Aspen Aerogels bets on three growth pillars after plant incident

Aspen Aerogels expects sequential revenue improvement in 2026 after Q1 disruption

Aspen Aerogels reported Q1 revenue of $37.9 million, down 8% sequentially, and a GAAP net loss of $23.7 million after an operational disruption at its East Providence plant on April 8. Management plans a staged restart in May, used external capacity and inventory to limit customer impact, and forecasts Q2 revenue of $40 million–$48 million with adjusted EBITDA of negative $10 million to negative $4 million. Aspen Aerogels: production site remains out of service after explosion

The Aspen Aerogels production facility in East Providence, Rhode Island, remains temporarily closed after an explosion on April 8; a high‑temperature furnace is believed to be the cause. Part of the plant was damaged, and eleven employees were examined medically and released. The company is working with authorities on a restart plan, has made claims on its business interruption and property insurance, and is assessing the financial impact.
