Cytokinetics bets on MYQORZO expansion in HCM and prepares NHCM approval

At the Citigroup conference, Cytokinetics reported a better-than-expected launch for MYQORZO in obstructive HCM, capturing a 40% share of new prescriptions by the end of Q2 2026. ACACIA-HCM phase 3 data showed superiority in non-obstructive HCM (NHCM) and support a planned regulatory filing; the company estimates NHCM could represent about 50% of the HCM market. There was a slight imbalance of serious heart-failure events in ACACIA, which the company views as manageable and plans to publish additional safety data. Cytokinetics beats Q2 2026 estimates thanks to launch of MYQORZO

MHRA grants Cytokinetics approval for Aficamten in the UK

The MHRA has approved Cytokinetics’ Aficamten (MYQORZO) for the treatment of symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in adult patients. NICE recommends use in England and Wales for patients in NYHA classes II–III as an add‑on to optimized standard therapy or as monotherapy when there are contraindications. The decision is based on the phase‑3 SEQUOIA‑HCM study, which showed a mean difference in peak oxygen uptake of 1.7 ml/kg/min (p < 0.001) versus placebo.
