Deka raises profit forecast thanks to boom in securities savings plans

Deka increases its annual forecast for economic profit from €700 million to around €800 million after a strong first half. Profit rose 5% in H1 to €546 million; revenues grew 7.5% to €1.32 billion, but remain below last year’s figure of €963 million. The driver is the retail business: inflows rose to €19.5 billion, around 298,000 new securities savings plans were opened, and Deka now manages about 9.1 million savings plans; fund assets grew to €485 billion. Bafin reviews Deka balance sheet over possible Cum-Cum transactions

The financial regulator Bafin is examining the balance sheet of the savings banks’ fund company Deka because of a technical accounting entry that affects a material item and may have been recorded incorrectly. The probe follows suspicions of Cum-Cum-like tax structures — controversial share transactions with tax implications. Dekabank posts profit jump to €962.9 million and heads into 2026 cautiously

Dekabank reported an economic result of €962.9 million for 2025, about 8% more than a year earlier and just below the 2022 record. Sales performance rose 41.3% to €40.9 billion, supported by strong retail inflows into funds and certificates. Customers opened a net 623,000 new securities savings plans; Deka now manages 8.8 million savings plans in total (+7%).
