Domo sells operating assets to Progress Software for $400 million

Under the agreement, Progress Software will acquire nearly all of Domo’s operating assets, customer contracts, employees, IP and foreign subsidiaries for $400 million in cash. The announcement lifted Domo shares about 21%; upon closing Domo will retain roughly $246 million of net cash and net operating loss carryforwards of more than $900 million. Progress buys Domo's operating business for $400 million

Progress Software will acquire for $400 million in cash essentially all of Domo’s assets and employees; the agreement excludes tax loss carryforwards and certain retained assets. After closing, Domo will retain about $246 million in cash ($4.84 per share) and tax loss carryforwards of more than $900 million; its existing credit facility will be paid off in full. The remaining Delaware holding company intends to change its name and ticker, will remain publicly listed, and is exploring options to monetize the tax loss carryforwards or return capital to shareholders. Ken Garff Automotive modernizes data management with Domo and Snowflake

The Ken Garff Automotive Group has implemented Domo together with Snowflake and now manages over 4 billion operational data records. The cloud-based system replaces an old on-premises reporting setup, consolidates data from sales, service, finance and third parties, and provides role-based access for headquarters and dealerships. A single service report now saves about 400 work hours per month; the company is also evaluating chatbots and data-governance tools.
