Electrolux reports operating loss in Q1 – North America weighs heavily

Electrolux recorded a reported operating loss of SEK 266 million in the first quarter and a net loss of about SEK 470 million, after reporting a profit in the same quarter last year. Excluding one-off items, operating profit was about SEK 198 million, while net sales fell from SEK 32.6 billion to SEK 29.5 billion and organic sales declined by 0.5%. The main reason is the collapse of the North American business, with organic sales down 11.6% and higher tariff costs; Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America showed more stable developments. Electrolux expects better EPS and slightly lower revenue in the quarter
