Elkem beats EBITDA expectations despite price pressure on silicon

Elkem reported EBITDA of NOK 523 million for the second quarter, beating the analysts’ estimate of NOK 377 million but down 19% from the prior year. Operating income fell 4% to NOK 3.71 billion, mainly due to lower selling prices for silicon and ferrosilicon products.
