The park could theoretically supply 1.1 million households, is mostly connected to the grid and is expected to be fully operational by late summer. He Dreiht is one of the first subsidy-free parks and is based on long-term offtake agreements with major customers such as Google, Bosch and Deutsche Bahn. EnBW has completed Germany’s largest offshore wind farm, He Dreiht, off Helgoland: 64 turbines with 960 MW of installed capacity and roughly €2.4 billion in investment are calculated to power 1.1 million households. The facility is connected to the grid via an offshore converter station and two high-voltage cables. He Dreiht operates without subsidies and is largely secured by long-term offtake agreements with major customers such as Google, Bosch, Salzgitter, Deutsche Bahn and Fraport.
