The Peruvian subsidiary of Gilat Satellite Networks has signed a $14 million contract with the regional government of Ayacucho under the “Obras por Impuestos” program for a fiber broadband project. The project is to be completed within 18 months and will lay over 1,060 km of fiber as well as provide network monitoring, LAN installations, end-user devices and training. The orders, representing about 4% of revenue over the past twelve months, include ongoing services, ground-segment systems and network management for multi-orbit connectivity; the bulk of deliveries is expected within 24 months.
