GreenFirst reports Q2 profit and CEO Joel Fournier announces resignation

GreenFirst recorded a net profit of 5.5 million USD in the second quarter ended June 27, 2026, after a net loss of 20.7 million USD in the prior quarter. Adjusted EBITDA rose to 11.8 million USD, net revenue climbed 59% to 96.1 million USD, and average lumber prices increased to 764 USD per thousand board feet. There was a reversal of inventory write-downs of 16.2 million USD, while duties and levies rose to 21.1 million USD due to higher volumes and prices; the combined duty rate has been 45.16% since implementation. CEO Joel Fournier will resign for personal reasons effective October 31, 2026, and will remain in office until then to support the transition.
