Honda shares climbed nearly 5% to ¥1,748 and reached a two-year high, driven by hopes for improved conditions in North America. Honda leads growth of Japanese manufacturers in US market in July

Honda increased its US sales in July by 13% year-on-year, driven by affordable internal-combustion models such as the Accord, CR‑V and Civic. Overall, Japanese manufacturers raised their July sales by 2% while the total US vehicle market contracted by 2%. Toyota, Nissan and Subaru showed mixed results; Mazda recorded a 13% decline.
