Kingstone Companies posted a record net income of $15.5 million in the second quarter and diluted earnings per share of $1.04 (expectation $0.80). Direct written gross premiums rose 19% to $72.5 million, net earned premiums increased 31% to $60.5 million, and the combined net loss and expense ratio improved to 70.2%. Kingstone reports Q1 loss after severe winter storms, operational business grows
Kingstone recorded a net loss of $5.8m in the first quarter of 2026 (diluted loss per share $0.40), hit by around 11 winter catastrophe events and gross catastrophe losses of about $25m. Despite the loss, operating metrics improved: earned net premiums rose 28%, written gross premiums nearly 20%, and the adjusted combined ratio fell to 88.3%.
