Kyocera sells chemicals unit to Sumitomo Bakelite for about 30 billion yen

Kyocera is selling its chemicals unit, which mainly makes encapsulation materials and pastes for semiconductors, to Sumitomo Bakelite for about 30 billion yen. The deal is expected to close at the end of October 2026; the unit recorded revenue of 23.2 billion yen in the fiscal year to March 2025 and was profitable.
